Creatively Speaking: Only Boring People Get Bored

Only boring people get bored.

I've no idea who said that originally but I know who I have heard say it. I heard Humble The Poet say it in one of Superwoman's vlogs a while ago now.

And I thought of it again this week when I was watching TV and for a second I thought 'I'm bored' before realising I had loads of stuff I could (read should) be doing.

And that was how this week I finally did some more work on my apron which I last worked on at the beginning of September!

And another long forgotten creative past time I finally returned to this week was working my way through more of Mastering Manga by Mark Crilley which I last looked at in March (eek!).

So other than returning to old hobbies this week I have also done some more colouring in my creative therapy mandala colouring book and sketching.

And writing wise I've been reading more of Conflict, Action & Suspense by William Noble (I might mention here that this is not a particularly long book it's just I only read a couple of pages a day). And speaking of writing I have just about finished my scene list so I should be as ready as I'll ever be for the start of NaNoWriMo 2015 - which starts in one week (I think this deserves another eek!).

I suppose I'd better go and get signed up for that.

This all happened the very same week that Assassin's Creed Syndicate was released and American Horror Story: Freak Show was put on Netflix UK (yes I know Hotel has just started in the US, but whatever channel it gets shown on in the UK I can't get - hence waiting for Netflix) - so although I'm currently obsessed with both I've been trying to keep my playing/viewing of them to a minimum.

Til next week...

Creatively Speaking: More Of The Same

This week hasn't really differed that much from last week apart from I actually started and finished making my sister's birthday card (which I will post a photo of in November as my sister's birthday is on the 1st and she sometimes visits my blog - don't want to spoil the surprise).

I did some more colouring in my "creative therapy" mandala colouring book and I've done some more sketching via YouTube videos.

I know I've previously mentioned following DramaticParrot tutorials but this week I've also done a couple of Art aLa Carte and How2DrawAnimals tutorials as well (I've been subscribed to Art ala Carte for a while now but I've only discovered How2DrawAnimals recently).

I've also continued to work on my scene list - it's looking hopeful that it will be ready in time for the start of NaNoWriMo this year. and I've read more of Conflict, Action & Suspense by William Noble.

Til next week...

Creatively Speaking: NaNoWriMo Approaches

It finally sunk in this week that NaNoWriMo is fast approaching and that if I want to take part this year I've got to get my scene list finished off.

So this week as well as reading Conflict, Action & Suspense by William Noble I've also been working on my scene list. Good thing too as when I went to make a note of the scene when one of my characters died I realised that I hadn't actually put the death in my synopsis. So according to the synopsis the character just vanished, never to be heard from again.

Craft wise I've been sketching, gathering supplies/ideas together for my sister's birthday card and this week I got one of those "creative therapy" adult colouring books - mine is one filled with mandalas.

I do like to draw my own mandalas but I do find it relaxing to colour in already drawn ones.

And I don't know if it counts as being creative seen as I'm not the one creating something but I have been watching quite a few crafting YouTube videos this week - all the Halloween/Autumn crafts have come out to play!

Have you signed up for NaNoWriMo yet?

Creatively Speaking - Being Organised, Shock, Horror!

Just a quick post this week as I've got clothes everywhere as I'm switching my wardrobe round today (yes the great summer/winter wardrobe switch is upon us).

So this week I have doodled. I have done another DramaticParrot tutorial (Cruella De Vil if you are interested). I have made some more of the TMNT buns that I have made in the past. And I have been planning and gathering supplies for my sister's birthday card.

Which won't do at all!

My sister's birthday is the 1st November and I'm not usually this organised - so not only am I already more or less set to make my Christmas cards I'm also just about ready to make my sister's birthday card. I repeat this level of organisation will just not do!

And writing wise I've been reading more of Conflict, Action & Suspense by William Noble (And suddenly realising just how close NaNoWriMo is!).

Are you planning on taking part in NaNoWriMo this year?
