There's not long to go until the end of Camp NaNoWriMo April 2013.
And I think even though I am still behind on my word count I should be able to make it to 20,000 words by the end of the 30th April.
So here are my word counts for the last week:
Friday 19th: 514
Saturday 20th: 1093
Sunday 21st: 1890
Monday 22nd: 1136
Tuesday 23rd: 1132
Wednesday 24th: 1263
Thursday 25th: 1405
Week total: 8433
Grand total: 23011 words
Right at this moment I highly doubt that my story will be over and done with when I hit 30,000 words, but at least it's a start.
Til next week

OK so I'm still behind on my Camp NaNoWriMo word count... in fact the gap between where I am and where I should be has grown a little.
But I am not down hearted. I can still make it to 30,000 by the end of April... hopefully.
So my word counts for the past week are:
Friday 12th: 777
Saturday 13th: 0
Sunday 14th: 1,042
Monday 15th: 0
Tuesday 16th: 1,532
Wednesday 17th: 1,065
Thursday 18th: 1,377
Week total: 5,793
Grand total: 14,578 words
As you can see there were a couple of days when my muse decided that they didn't want to play and on my own I got zilch!
I still don't really know where my story is going but it has picked up pace now. I usually know where the next days worth of writing will take me. But the day after that my main characters could be anywhere by then.
Here's to hoping that if I don't catch up next week I at least close the gap a bit.
Til next week...

Week 2 of Camp NaNoWriMo April 2013 is over and I have continued writing.
So I'm still behind... and slightly more than I was last week. But I'm ok with that - I am slowly but surely beginning to catch up.
At the beginning of this week I realised that I was typing a load of b*llocks. And towards the end of the week I feel that the story has gotten a little better (if I do say so myself!) but I currently have no idea where this steampunk extravaganza is going (but hopefully it's somewhere good).
So my word counts for the last week are:
Friday 5th: 507
Saturday 6th: 540
Sunday 7th: 1,054
Monday 8th: 1,081
Tuesday 9th: 318
Wednesday 10th: 1,116
Thursday 11th: 1,066
Week total: 5,682 words
Grand total: 8,785 words (should have been at 11,000 words at the end of Thursday... oops!)
As you can see Tuesday was not a good day for increasing the word count... in fact it was like trying to get blood from a stone. Every single one of those 318 words was like having a tooth removed... ok so maybe I'm over-exaggerating just a teeny tiny bit... just a smidgen.
But each day I am gradually closing the gap between where I am and where I should be word wise - it is only by a dozen or so words a day but I'm getting there.
Til next week... when you never know I may have actually caught up (yes - it might just happen!).
Friday, 5 April 2013
Five days in to the first session of Camp NaNoWriMo 2013 and I'm behind.
Word counts for the Monday to Thursday look like this:
Monday 1st: 1,419
Tuesday 2nd: 681
Wednesday 3rd: 0
Thursday 4th: 1,003
Week total: 3,103 words
Now anyone who has read my last couple of posts may be a little worried for me at this point as originally I was aiming for 40,000 words so I should have been at about 5,333 words right now.
But I was rapidly beginning to panic about managing to hit 40,000. It was stressing me out so much that I decided to lower my target to 30,000 words. As soon as I did that I calmed down A LOT even though I am still behind.
My reasoning behind lowering my word count rather than trying to hit 40,000 is the same reasoning why I stopped playing 'League Play' on Call Of Duty: Black Ops II - if it is stressing me out this much I'm clearly not having fun any more.
Now I know if I ever want to be actually published it is not about having fun but I was rapidly approaching the 'sod it - I give up' phase of stressing out. At least this way I am continuing.

Today is the 1st of April and that can only mean one thing (other than it being April Fool’s Day of course).
It is now:
until the start of NaNoWriMo 2013.
And today is also the start of the first session of CampNaNoWriMo 2013 – no that is not an April Fool joke it is actually a fact (ok so maybe today mean more than just one thing).
If you are taking part you'd better get writing!
