Weekly Writing - Incoherent Babble

I wrote 836 words this week.

That was actually on Monday.

Cue Tuesday when I started coming down with a cold which has left my brain so bunged up that if I had the ability to come up with a story it would take me twice as long to write it as my typing skills have become non-existent (must be one of those typing colds!)

I think I may also be a little delirious - see typing cold comment above.

The first session of Camp NaNoWriMo 2013 starts up on Monday... are you prepared? I know I'm not particularly prepared due to this bl**dy cold!

So will I succeed in writing 40,000 words (you can adjust your word count target with Camp NaNoWriMo this year)?

Only time will tell...

Weekly Writing - A New Direction

This week I got 796 words. Which puts my total at 60, 493 words.

And just when I thought I was heading for the finish line some thing happened in my story to take it in a different direction.

To be honest it's going to be better this way - the way it was heading it was just going to end. Just fizzle out in an 'and they all went home for tea' kind of way - which was the problem with my NaNoWriMo 2011 - they all just waltzed off in to the sunset... well sunrise but you get the picture.

But if I don't get it finished by the end of next week (unlikely) I'll take a break while I take part in Camp NaNoWriMo which is fast approaching - eek!

The other problem is my inner editor keeps trying to point out the gaping plot chasms (they are way too big to just be called holes).

I keep having to tell inner editor off and send them to stand in the corner - they'll get their turn... eventually.

Weekly Writing - Plans Are Afoot

This week was a mix of writing projects.

I added 470 words to my WIP bringing the total up to 59,697 words.

I also started jotting down possible plot bunnies for my steampunk extravaganza (yes I am assuming that I will get stuck and require the assistance of plot bunnies).

Not long until the first session of Camp NaNoWriMo starts up now - hence the planning this week.

So it's just a quick post this week.

I'll leave you with a link to the Spirit Called's Quick And Dirty Tips To Improve Your Writing.

P.S. Apparently Google Reader is to be no more from July :( but you can follow this and my other blog via bloglovin'. :)

Weekly Writing - Camp NaNoWriMo Goes Live

It is official - you can now log in to Camp NaNoWriMo and enter the details of your future novel!

The first session starts on the 1st of April and the blog badges etc are now available. There is also the option to increase or decrease your target word count.

Given my last Camp NaNoWriMo word total - 20,000 (I seem to work better in November plus we were having a family crisis... that ended badly) - I have decided to decrease my target slightly to 40,000.

But anyway back to my current writing.

This week I have written 1,675 words. So my total is now 59,227.

I'm quite happy with my total until I realise that it took me 30 days to write just over 50,000 words and yet it has taken my just over three months to add just under 10k to it. :(

Oh well I suppose it's better than not writing at all.

Til next week...

Weekly Writing - Not Long Now

This week I managed to nail down 679 words.

So it's not as good as last week but it's better than nothing in my opinion.

So my total is now 57,552 words.

And as you may have noticed from my post earlier today  the first session on Camp NaNoWriMo 2013 is fast approaching.

Oh *$&%!

Please talk amongst yourselves whilst I panickedly prepare my costume for Birmingham MCM, prepare for Camp NaNoWriMo and prepare 26 posts for the Blogging From A To Z April Challenge 2013 which I'm taking part in on my other blog.

So not much to do then :P

And whilst I do that and you talk amongst yourselves, here are a couple of links to keep you occupied:

NaNoWriMo Countdown

Are you as mad as a March Hare (or something equally corny and March related)?

March is here and there are now only:

245 days

to go until NaNoWriMo 2013 begins… and only 31 days to go until the first session of CampNaNoWriMo 2013 begins.
