Weekly Writing - Back To Work

Well this week is the first week in three weeks that I have actually written anything (and that is a lot of weeks to be in one sentence!).

I have written 1,327 words this week bringing my total up to 56,873 and my first draft even closer to the end of the story.

I have also rescued the notes I made for my steampunk extravaganza from the bottom of my handbag (where pieces of paper go to die!). Because the first session of Camp NaNoWriMo is a little over a month away (AARGH!!!) and I need to prepare a little more before we get there.

And I bring you links again this week. Links that I have dragged back from my trip through the blogosphere this week.

The only difference between these links and the links I usually bring you is I haven't read these ones yet. I didn't have time so I just favourited them to go back to later. In fact I shall go and read them now...

Did Agatha Christie Have A Formula For Success? - Becke Martin Davis, Wordplay

Starting A Story In The Middle - Mooderino, Moody Writing

How To Read Like A Writer - Chuck Wendig, Terrible Minds

Weekly Writing - AWOL

Last week I didn't post my Weekly Writing - oops.

Basically I forgot. It wasn't until 10pm I realised by which time I had half a bottle of wine inside me and was half way through watching The Shining... so I could no longer be a*sed to blog.

And since then I haven't written anything... I've been uber busy. For some reason I've decided to cosplay in March at the Birmingham MCM and I've been making my costume - which is still far from finished.

I have some links for you though this week which you can enjoy whilst I go and make a birthday card, make more of costume and begin to panic about how close Camp NaNoWriMo is becoming!

How To Develop Your Theme - Janice Hardy (The Other Side Of The Story)

25 Things You Should Know About Narative Point-Of-View - Chuck Wendig (Terrible Minds)

The Biggest Probelm With Trick Endings - K. M. Weiland (Word Play)

Til next week (when hopefully there will be more writing to report)...

Weekly Writing - Links, Links & More Links

This week I have gathered together a selection of writing related articles that I encountered as I traversed the blogosphere (I'm very surprised that I managed to spell 'traversed' right the first time - now is the point someone tells me I've just got the context wrong!).

Anyway the links:

At Wordplay I found a post on 7 ways to speed up your writing.

Then on Janet Reid's blog I found a link to The 22 Rules Of Storytelling as told by Pixar - click here for the link on Janet's blog.

And then on HelloGiggles I found 3 Tips For Conquering Anxiety And Getting Down A First Draft. (I'll be honest I haven't been following HelloGiggles that long and wasn't actually expecting to find writing advice on there)

And now just because I felt like it I went back in time through all the blog posts I've favourited for future reference and randomly picked a couple out for you:

Around this time last year Janice Hardy posted about what to do when your novel's too short.

And about seven months ago Moody Writing posted The 5 Best Pieces Of Writing Advice.

I may have posted those last two at some point in the past... not completely sure.

Til next week...

NaNoWriMo Countdown

January has come and gone. So it is now time to announce that there are…

273 DAYS

…to go until the beginning of NaNoWriMo 2013. And only 59 days until the beginning of the first session of Camp NaNoWriMo 2013.

Soon comes around doesn’t it?
