Weekly Writing - Not Much To Report

I'll be honest I have done no writing at all this week (although I can't believe it's Friday already - where did the week go?)

Maybe it's the shock of the world not ending or the battle against the one million tonnes of food we currently have in the house - I don't know.

But anyway my word count total still stands at 53,088 words.

I'm hoping to start the New Year with a bang and increase that. I don't think I'm too far from the end now. Then I can lock it out of the way and forget about it for a month or two.

I was trawling through my emails the other day when I found one that I had flagged... and then forgotten about. It was a link from Copyblogger - 10 Steps To Becoming A Better Writer. If you follow this link you can print out a free poster version - don't say I never give you anything!

Weekly Writing - Not Much To Report

If you are reading this then clearly the world has not ended.

Christmas is stampeding towards us and it is reflected in my word count for the week.

This week I managed 218 words... I know - pathetic isn't it? But like I said last week it's still a lot better than the same week last year when I wrote nothing.

So my total now stands at 53,088 words.

The fur is about to start flying in my story though so maybe it will encourage me to write a bit more. I'm not promising much for next week though - there is Christmas... and the sales to consider after all.

I'll get some words done at some point no doubt.

What are your writing plans for next week?

Weekly Writing - Just A Quick Note

Just a short post today.

This week I have done a whopping 603 words!

I know, I know... in comparison to the number of words I was churning out during NaNoWriMo it's nothing. But in comparison to what I wrote in the same week last year it's quite an achievement - I've written 603 more words than this time last year!

So my total is now 52,870 words - and the story is still not finished.

Now as it is approaching Christmas I thought I'd spoil you with two posts from Chuck Wendig.

The first is writing related (kinda). It is 25 Gifts For Writers.

And the other isn't really writing related - it just made me laugh. It's Chuck's response to receiving a piece of spam - In Which I Am Contacted By The "FBI".

I'll warn you now - next week's post might be a little short (or confusing) depending on when I write it. Next Friday is my work Christmas party. So the day consists getting ready, going out and then being somewhere between tipsy and drunk! :)

Weekly Writing - Life After NaNo

Well it's a week since NaNoWriMo came to an end but my story had not.

So I've continued writing this week all be it at a much slower pace.

This week I've manage to drum up another 2,045 words bringing my total up to 52,252 words. The story is still not over but I'm getting there... just slowly.

I found out this week that Sally at Quiller's Place is running 100k In 100 Days again next year. I took part last year although I didn't actually get to the end of that.

I thought about trying it again next however...

...a little birdie told me that next year Camp NaNoWriMo is taking place in April and July.

I tried Camp NaNoWriMo last year (the first year in fact). About half way through July I not only had a family emergency/catastrophe but just before that happened I had completely run out of story. And I only had 20,000 words.

So I figured that I work better in November than July and August.

However if it is taking place in April next year I might give it a whirl. That gives me just under four months to not only come up with an outline (probably my Steampunk idea) and plan all my A To Z Challenge posts (takes place in April) on my other blog.

And for those who are suffering from Post NaNoWriMo Syndrome on her blog The Other Side Of The Story Janice Hardy has the post You've Finished NaNoWriMo: Now What?

Til next week...

NaNoWriMo - Your Time's Up!

Pens down everyone. Please swap your paper with the person sitting next to you so we can mark your work.
Or save your work in eighteen million different places (ok, three or four would probably do) and don’t look at it until New Year – now go and get on with something else – the washing up, washing clothes, eating, sleeping, a shower  – you know the things you’ve been avoiding throughout NaNoWriMo.

Speaking of NaNoWriMo (I warned you that I would do this didn’t I?) there are only:

335 DAYS

until NaNoWriMo 2013!!!

Doesn’t sound long does it?
