The End Of An Era

Once upon a time I started blogging...

...I stated blogging to keep track of my writing...

...but then that blog descended in to more and more random things and so I created this blog for the creative things...

...but recently I've realised that I'm having difficulty posting on two blogs regularly.

While I feel that I'm blogging regularly... which I am kinda... I'm not really as the posts are spread over two blogs. So where one blog is getting a couple of posts a week, the other (this one) is getting 3 or 4 a month. Which if combined would end up being about 11 posts a month.

So that's what I've decided to do... I'm going to condense my blogs in to one again.

So this blog will be around for a little while yet, while I move some of my posts, and bits and pieces, over to my other blog.

But eventually this blog will disappear... it has been fun while it lasted. I say eventually as I can be kind of lazy when it comes to this sort of stuff so trawling through over 300 posts may take me longer than the average person.

In the meantime you can find me over at my other blog The Random Thoughts Of Chippy.

Creatively Speaking: Random Bits & Bobs

So the last two weeks have consisted of a random selection of creative activities.

  • In the UK it was Mother's day at the beginning of March so I made a card.
  •  I've been hole punching random scraps of paper for future use as I mentioned in a previous blog post.

  • I bought one of those pre-printed canvas ages ago with every intention to change the colours to suit the room it is going in. The butterfiles on it are orange so I'm painting over them in purple and turquoise. But anyway I finally got started on it...
  • I recently saw a video on YouTube regarding organising nail polish...

...so I decided to do something similar. However due to the fact that I have a very large nail polish collection I decided to double end the sticks so I was swamped in them! And then I bundled them together in to groups (tied together with a corresponding ribbon!) - so all the purple swatches are together, all the reds etc.
  •  And I've been buying craft supplies... that counts as being creative... right?
Til next time...

Creatively Speaking: Quick Update

There isn't much to report from the last two weeks to be honest.

I have been creative, I know I have I just don't remember in every little way that I was.

So the highlights are:

  • I finished reading VOICE: The Secret Power Of Great Writing by James Scott Bell.
  • I made some ribbon ties to hold back my voile curtains - not exactly rocket science I know
  • I did some colouring in my mandala adult colouring book
  • I resized a t-shirt - as you can see in the photo below - the red t-shirt is the one I resized and it ended up being the size of the purple shirt I have laid on top of the red one. It actually went pretty well - the sewing machine behaved itself for a change and even the 'easing' in of the sleeves went without mishap (I hate trying to 'ease' in the sleeves in sewing projects!).
  •  I've also been trying out some ideas for storing different things - however as I have not quite completed those little projects I won't give you all the details just yet.
So til next time...

Creatively Speaking: The Sun Came Out!

Over the last week or so I've been feeling more productive (not just creatively but in general) and I can't help but feel that it's because the sun came out a bit more this week. Yes in the UK the sun has been out!

So it won't be too difficult to test that theory as, being the UK, the sun will inevitably leave us for a while -  so if my productivity falls when it does go the theory will be confirmed (and I'll have to get myself some UV lamps... or move to a sunnier country... or something).

But anyway recently I've made a birthday card and continued making notes for various writing projects.

I've also started reading another 'writing' book. This one is VOICE: The Secret Power Of Great Writing by James Scott Bell.

I've read writing books by James Scott Bell before and really liked them so I thought I'd give this one a go.

And, speaking of writing, and my last Creatively Speaking post, I'm still not particularly closer to deciding whether or not to take part in Camp NaNoWriMo in April.

So despite the increased productivity this week, this is only a short post.

So til next time...
